The seventeenth season of America’s Got Talent premiered on 31st May 2022. It has delivered six Golden Buzzers since its first episode. The Saxophonist Avery Dixon, Singers Madison Baez, Sara James, Lily Meola, and lady trio Chapel Hart, and the woman dancing group Mayyas are the contestants who earned the unexpectable Golden Buzzers to advance for the live shows. Here are some facts about their heartbreaking auditions.
1. Avery Dixon
21 years old Avery Dixon saxophonist came to the AGT from Atlanta, Georgia. He performed Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness” on the saxophone. The saxophonist earned a standing ovation from the audience, as well as from all four judges.
Simon started to vote with a yes but not taking a single second Terry came to the front and press the Golden buzzer with a huge shock. AGT Avery Dixon is the first ever solo act to receive Terry’s golden buzzer on the main show. Also, Avery is the first saxophonist to earn the golden buzzer in the entire Got Talent franchise.
2. Madison Baez
The eleven years old young teen lady, Madison Baez got the chance to sing from the audience during the break. Baez comes to watch AGT from Orange country, Yorba Linda, California, United States. During the commercial break, Maddison got the chance to sing in the studio audience.
As she used the opportunity incredibly, Simon Cowell prompts her to come onto the stage. After Madison’s impressive vocals, Cowell said the contestant was a one-of-a-kind. However, Baez’s dad is a cancer patient and her voice gives her father the strength to fight against cancer every single day.
Finally, Howie Mandel used his Golden Buzzer to send Maddinson directly to the live show in AGT’s second episode of the season.
3. Sara James
Sara Egwu James is a young teen lady who came to the AGT from Osnie Lubuskie Poland. She is the winner of The Voice Kids in Poland in 2021. AGT Sara James believes that AGT’s stage is the best place to follow her dreams. She used that experience quite incredibly to perform in front of the American audience.
Sara James shocked the judges and the audience after her sensational audition for “Lovely” by Billie Eilish. She touched everyone’s heart with her crystal clear husky voice. Simon decided to send the little girl directly to the live shows by pressing the Golden Buzzer.
4. Mayyas
Mayyas is a woman dancing group that came to AGT representing Lebanon, Middle East. They introduced themselves as “ The proud walk of a lioness.” AGT Mayya’s breathtaking audition captivates Sofia Vergara. They proved the art that could create, and what Arab women can do for the world through their shocking audition.
Mayyas AGT are the first to receive the Golden Buzzer from Sofia Vergara. They created history as the first all-female group in America’s Got Talent history to receive the Golden Buzzer.
5. Lily Meola
The 27 young lady Lily Meola is a professional singer and a songwriter. She decided to take a break from her career to take care of her mother who suffered from cancer. AGT Lily Meola’s original song “Daydream” makes Heidi Clum more emotional than anyone in the audience.
She earned a standing ovation from all judges and the audience. Eventually, Heidi Clum stands and says, “ I’m gonna push this Golden Buzzer for you. It’s you” She releases her love, emotions, and feelings. The talented young lady, Lily Meola advanced straight to the live show.
6. Chapel Hart
Chapel Hart is an American Country vocal group that performed country music as a group. It consists of 3 members called sisters Danica Hart and Devynn and their cousin Trea Swindle. They are natives of Poplarville, Mississippi. AGT singers Chapel Hart have their own unique harmonies, personalities, and solid foundation in the genre.
After the lady trio’s remarkable audition for their original song “ You Can Have Him Jolene”, Simon shouted and said, “ Oh my God1 trust me I need you today.” The four judges and the show’s host collectively slammed the golden buzzer, sending the three ladies to the live rounds.
