Ok Taec-yeon is a 34-year-old Korean actor, singer, rapper, and songwriter who has been in the Korean Entertainment industry for 13 Years in the industry. He couldn’t hold a fan meeting before leaving for the military. Fans were heartbroken by the announcement of his enlistment.
Ok Taec-yeon served in the Military as required for 19 Months of service from September 2017 to May 2019.

A press conference was held to welcome the actor after the military. The event took place in Ilsan in Gyeonggi Province.
Taecyeon said, “I couldn’t sleep that well. I was nervous. This is the first time I’m standing in front of cameras in so long that I’m not sure what I look like right now.” He also added, “I heard the trumpet this morning as our alarm, so I still can’t believe I’ve been discharged. I think it will hit me tomorrow morning when I’m woken up by an alarm that isn’t a trumpet.”
After he returned from the Military, He was set to pursue new activities as both a member of 2 PM and as an actor. Taecyeon announced his appearance in the K-drama series “The Game towards Zero.” Afterwards, he pursued his career mainly as an actor, taking part in some popular K-dramas like ‘Vincenzo,’ ‘Secret Royal Inspector & joy,’ ‘Blind,’ and ‘My heart is beating.’

Why should all men in South Korea serve in the Military?
Conscription, under the Constitution of South Korea, states that it is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years to serve in the Military. The duration of the service differs according to the military branch they serve. Usually, Active soldiers serve for a period of 18 months, Navy soldiers for 20 months, and Air force soldiers for 21 months.
Male citizens between the above age range go through an ‘Impairment and Disability evaluation’ before enlisting in the “first citizen service” mandate.
