Page Six reported that it obtained footage of the 27-year-old filming himself and his living quarters at Resolutions Living. Two unnamed sources told the outlet that he recorded the clip on Saturday evening, September 19.
Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died the following day. Santa Monica police have described the case as a suspected overdose investigation, rather than announcing a confirmed cause of death.
What the video reportedly shows
According to Page Six’s description, Gerber wears a white tank top, glasses and a silver necklace while recording himself. He then turns the camera toward a room containing several beds and a balcony overlooking the surrounding property and skyline.
The reported timing places the recording on the evening before his death. It does not establish that the footage captures his final moments or explain what happened afterward.
Page Six said a representative for the Gerber family did not respond to its request for comment about the video.
Police confirm September 20 emergency response
In a September 21 statement, the Santa Monica Police Department said officers responded to a possible overdose at approximately 9:35 a.m. on September 20 in the 1000 block of Berkeley Street.
Officers found an adult man who was deceased. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified him as Gerber, 27.
Police said detectives were investigating a suspected overdose and had found no indication of foul play at that time. The department said the medical examiner would determine the official cause and manner of death.
No final medical finding was available in the sources reviewed for this article. Descriptions of a suspected overdose should therefore remain separate from a confirmed medical conclusion.
Reports describe a recent arrival at the facility
Page Six reported, citing unnamed sources, that Gerber had entered the recovery facility during the same weekend he died.
The outlet described the property as offering shared living accommodations, exercise facilities and a structured recovery program. Those descriptions alone do not establish the treatment Gerber received or the circumstances leading to his death.
