Jo Jin Ho is a 30-year-old Korean singer, dancer, and songwriter who has been in the Kpop industry for 13 Years in the industry. He couldn’t hold a fan meeting before leaving for the military. However, the singer left a heartfelt post on PENTAGON’s official Instagram with the caption, “I’ll be back!! Don’t get sick, and take care. I love you.” Fans were heartbroken by the announcement of his enlistment.

A press conference was not held to welcome the singer after the military. The singer shared a heartfelt photograph with his father on Instagram with the caption, “Thank you to all those who waited for my discharge. I’ve been working hard to prepare and spend time with my family! (This photo is of me and my father at my parents’ 30th wedding anniversary photo shoot.) I’ll see you with a bright image tomorrow. I miss you! Let’s meet tomorrow.”

Why should all men in South Korea serve in the Military?
Conscription, under the Constitution of South Korea, states that it is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years to serve in the Military. The duration of the service differs according to the military branch they serve. Usually, Active soldiers serve for a period of 18 months, Navy soldiers for 20 months, and Air force soldiers for 21 months.
Male citizens between the above age range go through an ‘Impairment and Disability evaluation’ before enlisting in the “first citizen service” mandate.
