A press conference was not held to welcome the singer from the military. Despite not planning an official event, the press and fans began lining up early in the morning to welcome him. The star came out in the uniform, then stopped to pose for a few pictures as he saluted the crowd, then smiled and waved at fans.

After he returned, Choi Si-won announced his appearance in tvN’s youth romance K-drama, “Revolutionary Love.” Afterward, he took part in a crime comedy-drama on KBS called “My fellow citizens.” Choi continued his service in many campaigns held by “UNICEF” as a special representative of South Korea. He also campaigned for “Smile for U,” which is a music education program for disabled children.

Why should all men in South Korea serve in the Military?
Conscription, under the Constitution of South Korea, states that it is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years to serve in the Military. The duration of the service differs according to the military branch they serve. Usually, Active soldiers serve for a period of 18 months, Navy soldiers for 20 months, and Air force soldiers for 21 months.
Male citizens between the above age range go through an ‘Impairment and Disability evaluation’ before enlisting in the “first citizen service” mandate.
