Seo Eun Kwang is a 32-year-old Korean singer, dancer, and songwriter who has been in the Kpop industry for 11 Years in the industry. He couldn’t hold a fan meeting before leaving for the military. Fans were heartbroken by the announcement of his enlistment.

A press conference was not held to welcome the singer after the military. However, Eunkwang held a live stream to greet the fans. “I was discharged healthily without any injuries. I ate three square meals a day and slept early and woke up early, and exercised a lot. I gained about 5-6 kg (11-13 lbs). I worked out a lot, so I think the weight was distributed nicely in my muscles.” shared the singer when asked about his experience in the military.
After he returned from the Military, it was announced that he would release his debut EP in June.

Why should all men in South Korea serve in the Military?
Conscription, under the Constitution of South Korea, states that it is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years to serve in the Military. The duration of the service differs according to the military branch they serve. Usually, Active soldiers serve for a period of 18 months, Navy soldiers for 20 months, and Air force soldiers for 21 months.
Male citizens between the above age range go through an ‘Impairment and Disability evaluation’ before enlisting in the “first citizen service” mandate.
