In a press release, scientists have said that the loss could go up to nearly 80%. It is well above the average losses that we have endured so far, which is about 50%.

According to Scott McArt, an associate professor of entomology at Cornell University.
He noted that beekeepers, already accustomed to routine losses, are now grappling with a situation where the survival of their businesses hangs in the balance.
Factors such as climate change, pesticide use, habitat loss, and parasitic mites have been identified as culprits contributing to this crisis. Recent winters have exacerbated these conditions, with harsher weather patterns and fewer food resources available for bees.
The economic toll is staggering, estimated at $224.8 million in direct colony losses. Beekeepers find themselves in dire straits, with some losing everything.
