Mr. Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy shared a tribute after his six-year-old son died in a driveway collision.
Preston El Guindy was struck by a Tesla Cybertruck as his father reversed out of the family’s driveway near Temecula, California, shortly before 9 p.m. on September 19, according to the California Highway Patrol.
In an Instagram Story, El Guindy shared a photograph of himself embracing Preston and wrote: “We are one. We will always be one. We will be together forever. Preston and Terrick.”
Child Died After Emergency Hospital Treatment
CHP identified the driver as Tarik El Guindy, 48, who uses the name Terrick professionally.
According to MyNewsLA’s report citing CHP, El Guindy immediately called 911 after the collision. Paramedics took Preston to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he died that night.
CHP said the Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot mode at the time.
Investigation Remains Open
CHP told the Los Angeles Times that preliminary evidence pointed to an accident; investigators were still reviewing vehicle footage and other evidence.
Whether the vehicle issued a warning before the collision remains unclear. The available information does not establish that a vehicle malfunction caused the crash.
Family Friend Remembers Preston
Family friend Stefanie Chesbro organized a fundraiser for the El Guindy family, saying Preston had been playing outside in his neighborhood when he was struck.
She said his mother was beside him at the hospital when he died. Preston leaves behind his parents and sister, Scarlett.
Chesbro remembered him as a child who brought joy to those around him and was “always with a smile on his face.”
The fundraiser seeks to ease the family’s financial burden as they grieve. El Guindy is known in professional bodybuilding for his judging work and appearances on Olympia TV and “Prime Time Muscle.”
