Spice Girls Release “Unseen Audition Clip” on 30th Anniversary!

On March 4th, This year marked the 30th anniversary of the first auditions for the iconic 1990s girl group, the Spice Girls. In an exciting tribute to this milestone, fans were gifted with a rare, never-before-seen video of the original tryouts.

But the surprises don’t stop there. According to Mel B, the band is planning something big for their anniversary. Despite being tight-lipped about the details, Mel B hinted at a collaborative project involving all five members during a January appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

A Look Back On Spice Girls

The Spice Girls, comprised of Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), initially formed in 1994 under the name Touch. They later changed their name to Spice after co-writing a song titled “Sugar and Spice.” The group released their debut single, “Wannabe,” in July 1996, which catapulted them to global fame. Their debut album, “Spice,” followed in November of the same year, leading to a series of hits like “Spice Up Your Life,” “Who Do You Think You Are,” and “Stop.” Despite embarking on solo careers and personal endeavors, the group announced a hiatus in December 2000. However, they reunited for a worldwide tour and performed at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London.

Spice Girls: Where Are They Now?

Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), after her departure in 1998 to explore a solo career, made her way back to the group in 2007. Beyond her music career, Geri ventured into fashion, designing a swimsuit line, and took on roles as a judge for Australia’s Got Talent and The X Factor. She has also penned two autobiographies and a collection of children’s books.

Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) ventured into a solo music career with her song “A Mind of Its Own” before discovering her true passion in fashion design. In 2008, she debuted her highly sought-after fashion label, Victoria Beckham, and followed up with the launch of Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019.

Mel B (Scary Spice) embraced her solo career with open arms, appearing on reality TV shows like Dancing With the Stars and The Masked Singer. She also starred in her reality series, Mel B: It’s a Scary World, joined the judging panel of America’s Got Talent, and authored her memoir, Brutally Honest.

Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) pursued solo projects outside the group, participating in Strictly Come Dancing, serving as a judge on Dancing on Ice, making appearances on Absolutely Fabulous, hosting The Great American Baking Show, and authoring the book Mama You Got This.

Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) achieved the highest solo album sales within the group, making her one of the UK’s most successful female artists. She launched her label, Red Girl Records, in 2004 and made her acting debut in the stage musical Blood Brothers. In 2021, she joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 30.
