It was a Thanksgiving night nobody will forget as an off-duty paramedic plunged into a blaze to save a 7-year-old girl’s life. Richard Recinos, of the Los Angeles Fire Department, acted on instinct when he saw the East Hollywood home engulfed in flames, with young Savannah trapped on the porch.
The heart-stopping rescue unfolded as Recinos was returning from a family dinner when he noticed the fire on Melrose Avenue. Without hesitating, he ran towards the danger.
“I just knew I had to get her out safely,” Recinos recounted, reflecting on the dramatic event.
