A press conference was held to welcome the actor after the military. He mentioned a few things about his experience in the military. “I felt a lot while in the army, and I was relieved of my duty, feeling like it is time for me to begin anew with the second half of my life. In truth, I’m still very worried and fearful about things, but in the army, I thought of ways to combat what I’m going through and vowed that I would, so I hope that fans will trust me and watch over me,” said Kim Hyun-joong.
After Kim Hyun-joong returned from the Military, he released his first Japanese single album, “re: wind.” The album became number one on the Oricon album chart. The innercore 16-city Japanese tour took place soon after the release. Afterward, he released the Korean album “HAZE,” and the album release was followed by the HAZE world tour. The actor made his comeback to dramas with the K-drama “When Time Stopped.” Joong released the soundtrack “Just for my love” as one of the songs in the drama.

Why should all men in South Korea serve in the Military?
Conscription, under the Constitution of South Korea, states that it is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years to serve in the Military. The duration of the service differs according to the military branch they serve. Usually, Active soldiers serve for a period of 18 months, Navy soldiers for 20 months, and Air force soldiers for 21 months.
Male citizens between the above age range go through an ‘Impairment and Disability evaluation’ before enlisting in the “first citizen service” mandate.
