On Monday, she marked the one-year anniversary of her presidential campaign kick-off by posting on X, sharing photos from her short-lived race. “One year ago today, I began my campaign for President of the United States. Over the 107 days of our race, I had the opportunity and honor to travel our nation and meet with Americans who were fighting for a better future…” she wrote, trying to highlight her journey and the ongoing fight for democracy.
Interestingly, the former Vice President’s post seemed to overlook one crucial aspect – her former boss, President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race shortly after endorsing her as the Democratic nominee for the upcoming elections.
“You didn’t get a single primary vote. How very democratic,” criticized Amy Curtis from Twitchy.
Social media lit up with responses, including the Republican National Committee, which pointedly noted, “Becoming the presidential nominee without getting a single vote is not the flex you think it is.” Chuck Ross from the Washington Free Beacon even joked about the lack of mention of Biden, saying “lol. complete Joe Biden erasure.”
In a moment that many consider a tone-deaf celebration, Harris’s attempt to reflect on the past has instead ignited discussions about accountability and support in the political arena. In politics, timing is everything, and sometimes, it’s best to let the past be the past.
