A concrete mixer in southern Türkiye remained parked for about 45 days because doves had built a nest on the machinery.
The story was reported from Kumlu district in Hatay on September 30, 2026, by Daily Sabah with reporting and photographs from IHA.
A discovery before work began
Driver Mulla Biçer reportedly noticed the nest while inspecting the vehicle. After seeing eggs, he informed company officials.
The company left the mixer out of service and put up a warning note so workers would avoid disturbing the birds.
The report says the eggs hatched and the young birds grew before leaving the nest. Biçer described returning the vehicle to work after the chicks had flown.
A practical act of patience
The reported 45 days is an approximate period from that account, rather than an independently inspected equipment log.
Its central detail is straightforward: the people responsible for the machinery chose to wait. They could accommodate the interruption long enough for the nesting cycle to finish.
The story does not need an invented loss figure or a claim that every construction company could make the same decision. It records one local choice that gave a small bird family time to leave before a large machine resumed its daily work.
