A bizarre and violent case in Florida has left many stunned after a man allegedly ran over a woman who refused his unusual request. Authorities said the incident happened on August 24 at around 2 pm at the Serena Hotel in Aventura, about 20 miles north of Miami NY Post reported.

According to police, the victim, who asked to remain anonymous, met 28-year-old Elmoncy Sercle through the dating app Seeking. They arranged to meet at the Serena Hotel. Once inside the hotel room, Sercle allegedly asked if he could smell her feet and even offered to buy her used sneakers.
“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” the woman said. She added that she did not mind selling her sneakers but told him they cost $1,000 because she was a professional foot model.
The Attempted Escape
According to the police affidavit, the woman said she needed to retrieve the sneakers from her car. Instead, she used the excuse to slip away to the washroom to escape. While she was away, Sercle reportedly ran out of the room. Fearing her belongings were stolen, she followed him to the hotel parking garage where she saw him entering a red Mercedes SUV Law and Crime reported.
The SUV Attack
Police said that once inside the vehicle, Sercle accelerated toward the woman, performed a three-point turn, and struck her with the SUV before fleeing. The victim suffered bruises to her back, arms, and chest. She later described the ordeal as “extremely bizarre.”
“I’ve met a lot of people who have foot fetishes, obviously, and nobody has ever done anything to this calibre,” she told reporters. “By the grace of God, I’m still standing today.”
Arrest and Charges
Sercle was later arrested and charged with aggravated battery. He bonded out of jail and is scheduled to appear in court on September 29. Police continue to investigate the case, which has sparked concern about safety in online dating encounters.
The victim said she hopes her story serves as a warning for others. “You never really know who you’re meeting online until you’re in that room,” she said.
