A heartbreaking tragedy has struck a family from Gujarat and London, leaving two young children orphaned within days.
Arjunbhai Manubhai Patoliya, a native of Vadia village in Amreli and a resident of London, died in the Air India flight AI171 crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025. Just days before, he had flown to India to fulfill the last rites of his wife, who had recently passed away in London.
Fulfilling her final wish, Arjunbhai returned to his hometown alone—leaving their two children behind in London. He performed her besnu and other religious rituals, surrounded by grieving relatives. With a heavy heart and his duties complete, he boarded the return flight to reunite with his children. But the plane never made it.
The aircraft tragically crashed near BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad, killing many passengers including Arjunbhai. News of the incident has plunged his family and the entire village of Vadia into mourning.
The most painful question remains: what will happen to the children now?
