A fundraiser for the infant daughter of Erin Piacenti, the 32-year-old Bank of America vice president killed in Times Square, has raised more than $737,000 as supporters rally around her family.
The GoFundMe campaign, titled “In Memory of Erin Piacenti: Supporting Madison’s Future,” showed $737,542 raised toward a $1.2 million goal on Friday, with more than 7,600 donations.
The fund was created to support Madison, Piacenti’s 5-month-old daughter with her husband, Frank. The page says all money raised will go directly to Frank to support Madison’s care, stability and future.
First Day Back From Maternity Leave
Piacenti was killed on Monday, August 31, 2026, in what police and prosecutors have described as a random attack in Times Square. The fundraiser says the day was her first day returning to work after maternity leave.
“Becoming a mother was Erin’s lifelong ambition, and Madison gave her the greatest possible joy,” the campaign says.
Piacenti had recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary and had just returned from a family road trip, according to the fundraiser. The page says she and Frank were preparing to build a life together with their new daughter before the attack.
What Police And Officials Said
The attack happened in the afternoon near Seventh Avenue between West 42nd and West 43rd streets. The Associated Press reported that a 49-year-old woman from Queens stabbed two people, killing Piacenti and injuring a 68-year-old man.
The New York attorney general’s office said Pamela Cisneros held a knife in each hand when officers confronted her at about 4:26 p.m. The office said officers ordered her to drop the knives, used Tasers with no apparent effect, and two officers then fired after she allegedly moved toward them.
Cisneros was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, according to the New York Attorney General’s Office. That office has opened an investigation because New York law requires review when a police officer may have caused a civilian death.
Officials said the facts released so far are preliminary and subject to change.
Family, Colleagues And Supporters Respond
Piacenti worked in Bank of America’s Business Selection and Conflicts group, according to Business Insider. A Bank of America spokesperson told the outlet the company was shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of a valued teammate.
The fundraiser describes Piacenti as deeply devoted to her family and friends, bright, accomplished and warm. It also notes that she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and later earned her law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
The campaign says the money will help Madison grow up surrounded by family, friends, stories and memories of her mother. The large response has turned the fundraiser into a public show of support after a sudden loss in one of New York City’s busiest places.
The Times Square attack remains under investigation by law enforcement. Piacenti’s family has asked for privacy and directed those wishing to help to the fundraiser for Madison.
