In a surprising twist, Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that Trump’s 2024 election win pushed her to leave the US for good. After selling their Montecito estate, Ellen, 67, and her wife Portia de Rossi sought refuge across the pond in the UK. “We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis,” she recounted. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.'”
The couple initially planned for a part-time adventure but turned it into a permanent lifestyle after Trump’s win in November.
“It’s absolutely beautiful. We just love it here. Everything here is just better,” she shared with broadcaster Richard Bacon.
Ellen has embraced farm living and often shares updates about her countryside life on social media. She exclaimed how everything from the architecture to the treatment of animals is charming and that it’s a simpler way of life. Not to mention her excitement of seeing snow for the first time in her life!
