Charles Foy left a Labrador behind while fleeing officers in Runcorn, Cheshire. The dog led police back to his address, where officers found him concealed beneath insulation in a loft, according to reporting based on the case.
The encounter followed an attempted stop while Foy was riding an e-scooter with two dogs in February 2026. He was subsequently convicted of offences including failing to stop, driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.
Reporting published in August said the 41-year-old received three months in prison and a driving ban of four years and three months at Warrington magistrates’ court. The dog’s behavior helped officers locate the home, while the search located Foy in the loft.
