The Trump administration has accepted a luxury jet donation from Qatar, with no restrictions on its future use, according to a memorandum of understanding reviewed by ABC News. Signed earlier this month by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Qatar’s Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Soud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the agreement paves the way for the Air Force to begin retrofitting the aircraft for President Trump’s use.
The plane, which has been dubbed a “flying palace” due to its lavish interiors, will undergo significant upgrades, but the cost of refurbishing the jet remains classified.
Sources have revealed that after President Trump leaves office, the plan is to transfer the jet’s ownership to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation. However, the exact price of the refurbishment is shrouded in secrecy, with speculation suggesting that it could reach as high as $1 billion. The Air Force has deferred all questions regarding the deal to Hegseth’s office, which in turn referred inquiries back to the Air Force.
