A ceasefire between Israel and Iran is now officially in place, according to a statement released by U.S. President Donald Trump on Truth Social.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Trump posted Tuesday, just hours after Iran launched a missile barrage into Israel, killing at least four people, according to Israel’s ambulance service.
The announcement comes amid rising tensions following Iran’s retaliatory strikes. ABC News confirmed that several Israeli civilians were killed or injured during the assault. Shortly after, India Today reported that Iran claimed the ceasefire had already taken effect — despite having just executed the attacks.
Trump had earlier declared a “complete ceasefire” intended to end the 12-day conflict, suggesting that both nations could complete ongoing military operations before the truce would formally take hold in phases.
The situation remains fragile, with global attention focused on whether both sides will honor the agreement moving forward.
