Armed federal agents in full tactical gear have descended on downtown Chicago, turning tourist hotspots into a battleground for Trump’s latest immigration crackdown. The President didn’t hold back, blasting on Truth Social, ‘Border Patrol will take no nonsense!’ as footage showed protesters clashing with feds during the ICE round-up that kicked off Sunday.
This operation, targeting ‘the worst of the worst’ illegal immigrants with criminal records, follows similar moves in Portland.
‘We’ve always got a target that’s anyone who is here illegally,’ said Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker slammed the operation as a ‘show of intimidation.’ Pritzker added it’s ‘instilling fear’ and hurting local businesses.
