The Jerusalem Youth Chorus impressed the judges and the audience with their angelic choir performance of ‘Home’ by Phillip Phillips. Amazed by this act, all the judges voted ‘yes’ and sent them to the next round of the contest.
This youth choir comprised of Israelis and Palestinians. They are part of a choral and dialogue youth program for the youth of both Palestine and Israeli in Jerusalem.

Background
The mission of the Jerusalem Youth Chorus is to provide a space for young people from East and West Jerusalem to grow together in harmony with song and dialogue. The chorus was founded in 2012 by an American Jew named Micah Hendler.
One of the members of the group shared the their goal as, ”we believe through music and through working together and talking to each other, we are taking a step forward into building that amazing future where there is justice and there is freedom and there is equality and there is inclusion.”
In 2017, they released their debut album entitled Home. In 2022, they released a cover of “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman and an original song entitled “Reason to Love”.

What happened in America’s Got Talent?
Audition
The Jerusalem Youth Chorus bombarded the stage with their youth team members and started the performance gracefully. Also, they shared a very passionate and dedicated declaration of their true purpose to the community.
With the same passion Howie Mandel exclaimed, “This is a world anthem. We all live our lives on this planet together, and thank you so much for appearing here on that stage.” Moreover, Sofía Vergara described the performance as “spectacular” and “heartwarming.”
“I love this audition. You made something very complicated, beautiful through friendship,” Simon Cowell said by giving their first vote with a yes. All the other judges commented ‘yes’ with enthusiasm sending them to the next round of AGT 2024.
