A Pennsylvania bus aide faces serious charges after a 14-year-old student reported alleged misconduct during her school ride.
Bensalem Township police arrested Ali Khan, 62, after reviewing surveillance footage from a school bus. The student, who has special needs, was traveling to an extended school year program at Bensalem High School.
Authorities charged Khan with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, and two counts of indecent assault. The accusations remain allegations unless prosecutors prove them in court.
Parents reported their daughter’s account
The investigation began on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The student’s parents contacted police after she told them about alleged inappropriate contact involving a bus aide.
Police said the reported incidents occurred on July 29 and July 30. Investigators then obtained video recorded by surveillance cameras inside the bus.
Authorities allege that the footage shows Khan directing the student toward a particular seat. Police said the alleged misconduct happened while he was helping her with her seatbelt and after she sat down.
Investigators also allege that Khan appeared to use his cellphone to photograph or record the student. Police have not publicly explained what investigators recovered from the device.
Police praise student for speaking up
The Bensalem Township Police Department praised the student for reporting what allegedly happened.
“Bensalem Police would like to commend the victim of this assault for having the courage to come forward and report the assault,” the department said.
The department also thanked the school district for assisting investigators. Police said protecting students remains a shared priority for both organizations.

Police ask other possible victims to come forward
Investigators are examining whether other students may have experienced similar behavior. Authorities have asked anyone with relevant information to contact Bensalem police.
William McVey, Bensalem’s director of public safety, described the surveillance footage as deeply troubling. He told 6ABC Philadelphia that the conduct shown was inexcusable.
Police have not announced additional charges or identified other alleged victims. The original student’s name has not been released because she is a minor.
School district removes aide from service
The Bensalem Township School District said Khan was immediately removed from service. He was also removed from district duties while separate criminal and administrative investigations continue.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” the district said in a statement.
District officials said they acted after receiving the student safety concerns. They also promised to support the affected family and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
The district is conducting its own administrative review under school policies and Pennsylvania law. Officials said they would avoid actions that could interfere with the criminal investigation.
Khan held at Bucks County facility
Following his arrest, Khan was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at 500,000 dollars, with a requirement that he post 10 percent.
Reports said Khan remained in custody after failing to post the required amount. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 11, 2026.
A preliminary hearing does not determine guilt. A judge uses the hearing to decide whether prosecutors presented enough evidence for the case to continue.
