KPop Demon Hunters singer-songwriter EJAE has married her longtime partner, Samuel Kim, in a deeply personal celebration in Seoul, South Korea.
The couple exchanged vows on October 17, 2026, at Stage 28, a garden venue with strong family significance for the bride. The property was once home to EJAE’s grandparents, and she spent part of her childhood exploring its garden and walking through the nearby hills with her grandfather.
Vogue Weddings published details and photographs from the couple’s celebration.
Why the Seoul venue meant so much
Stage 28 was more than a picturesque setting for the ceremony. According to EJAE’s account to Vogue, her grandparents lived in the house on the property when she was young. The site was later transformed into an event venue, but it remained closely connected to her family’s memories.
EJAE’s brother had also celebrated his wedding there, making the location an especially fitting place for another important family milestone.
The couple originally planned to marry in California in November 2026. They later decided to move the celebration to Korea and bring the date forward to October, giving them only a few months to organize the event.
A wedding rooted in Korean tradition
EJAE and Kim incorporated their Korean heritage throughout the wedding festivities. The celebration began with a traditional Paebaek ceremony and a welcome gathering in Seoul before the garden wedding at Stage 28.

The ceremony’s green and earthy palette reflected the landscape EJAE remembered from childhood. After exchanging vows outdoors, the newlyweds and their guests continued the celebration at a reception on the property.
The wedding brought together personal history, family tradition and the couple’s shared creative journey.
EJAE and Samuel Kim first connected through music
EJAE and Kim met in May 2017 after a mutual friend arranged a songwriting session at Kim’s home studio. Their initial creative collaboration grew into a relationship after they discovered shared interests in music and anime.
They later built a life together in Brooklyn while developing their respective careers. Kim proposed in June 2025 during a meaningful outing at a park the couple often visited with EJAE’s late dog.
Soon afterward, KPop Demon Hunters became a worldwide success and dramatically raised EJAE’s public profile.
EJAE’s rise through KPop Demon Hunters
EJAE, whose full name is Kim Eun-jae, is the singing voice behind Rumi, the leader of the fictional group HUNTR/X in Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters. She also helped create and perform music for the film’s popular soundtrack.
Before the movie’s breakout success, EJAE spent years working as a songwriter and producer. Her credits include songs for major K-pop acts, while her work on KPop Demon Hunters introduced her voice and story to a much wider international audience.
Through the attention surrounding the film, Kim remained an important source of stability in her life. Their Seoul wedding now marks a new chapter for a relationship that began quietly in a recording studio nearly a decade ago.
