At a packed Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi honoring conservative leader Charlie Kirk, Vice President JD Vance shared a personal story about his interfaith marriage. He revealed that his wife Usha, a Hindu, joins him at church most Sundays and expressed his hope she’ll embrace Christianity.
Vance, who found faith later in life and converted to Catholicism in 2019, has been married to Usha since 2014. The couple raises their three sons with Christian values, navigating their different beliefs with mutual respect.
“Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved by in church? Yeah, I honestly do… But if she doesn’t, then God says everybody has free will so that doesn’t cause a problem for me.”
