‘The scientific facts show that discharge to the river is the safest option for dealing with the processed and treated water,’ said Patrick O’Brien, Holtec’s director of government affairs.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins slammed the decision, calling the Hudson ‘the lifeblood of our region’ and refusing to let it become a ‘dumping ground for radioactive waste.’
