When a routine walk turned frightening
The woman had taken her son’s dog for a short walk near her home last month. When she didn’t return within her usual 10 to 15 minutes, her husband grew alarmed and called the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. “She never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes. When Miller grabbed Eeyore’s leash, the dog turned and led her directly to the injured woman lying on the sidewalk. Deputy Miller, who has served with the department for just over two years, declined interviews about the incident, saying she wanted the attention to stay on Eeyore. The Sheriff’s Office praised both for their compassion and teamwork in a Facebook post that quickly went viral.
