Fiona Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter, died by suicide, officials confirmed.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed the ruling on Oct. 1, according to Us Weekly. Fiona died at a hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Her family remembered her as a loving daughter and sister whose creativity and enthusiasm for dance brought them joy.
Family Asks for Privacy
In a statement announcing their loss, the family described Fiona as smart, creative and deeply loved by her parents and sisters.
“In fact, she was the light of our lives,” the family said. “Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
Fiona was the middle child of Lowe and Painter, who also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
The family concluded its statement by directing people experiencing emotional distress to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Remembering Her Love of Dance
Lowe, known for his work on “Pretty Little Liars,” had shared affectionate messages celebrating his daughter’s milestones.
For Fiona’s 13th birthday in November 2025, he celebrated her becoming a teenager and encouraged her to keep dancing through life.
Her grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, also remembered her on social media, sharing a photograph of Fiona in a swimming pool alongside a short farewell.
