Epstein Zorro Ranch Buyer Revealed as New Mexico Lawmakers Probe Burial Claims

The mystery buyer of Jeffrey Epstein’s remote New Mexico ranch has been identified as state lawmakers open a new investigation into explosive burial allegations.

The sprawling Zorro Ranch property was purchased in 2023 by the family of former Texas state Senator Don Huffines, according to reporting by The Real Deal.

The disclosure comes as the New Mexico House unanimously approved a bipartisan Truth Commission to examine alleged criminal activity tied to the ranch.

The vast compound in southern Santa Fe County, featuring a 26,700-square-foot mansion, gained notoriety after federal officials alleged that Jeffrey Epstein used the property as part of his sex-trafficking network, transporting underage girls there and entertaining powerful associates.

What Is Zorro Ranch

Epstein bought Zorro Ranch in 1993. The property spans more than 7,000 acres southeast of Santa Fe.

The estate includes a 26,700 square foot mansion, guest houses, a private airstrip, a helipad, ranch offices, heated garages, and other facilities that made it isolated and self contained.

Epstein faced federal sex trafficking charges in New York before his death in 2019, which the US Department of Justice ruled a suicide. Official DOJ records are available at justice.gov.

While Epstein was never charged in New Mexico, the state attorney general previously confirmed that activities at the ranch were under review.

Burial Allegations Surface

The renewed investigation follows the resurfacing of a 2019 email referenced in a recent Department of Justice document release. According to lawmakers, the email claimed two foreign girls were buried in hills near the ranch.

The allegations have not been publicly substantiated. It remains unclear whether authorities fully investigated the claims at the time.

New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands Stephanie Garcia Richard said portions of the land referenced in the email are state leased property connected to the ranch.

She said she renewed calls for an investigation after learning that no known search had taken place on either state or private sections of the land.

Truth Commission Established

The New Mexico House approved a Truth Commission with subpoena power to compel witnesses and gather records.

Lawmakers stated the goal is to restore public trust and address concerns that alleged criminal activity at Zorro Ranch was not fully investigated.

Details on legislative oversight authority can be found through the New Mexico Legislature at nmlegis.gov.

New Owner Responds

Don Huffines acknowledged on social media that his family acquired the ranch. He said proceeds from the sale benefited Epstein’s victims.

Huffines stated the property is being rebuilt as a Christian retreat. He also said he has not been contacted by law enforcement but would fully cooperate if requested.

As the Zorro Ranch investigation moves forward, officials say they are focused on determining whether any credible evidence supports the burial claims.

For now, the case adds another chapter to the long and complex fallout surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s network and properties.
