In the audition, they performed a piece where Matisse was the hero and Jules was the ‘villain’ dog catcher. Jules attempted to catch Matisse with a net. But Matisse ran away in sync. Then Jules caught Matisse and placed him in a cage.Although then Matisse escaped and ‘made friends’ with Jules. Amanda described ‘I felt like I was 9 years old again’ and also she commented the performance as ‘faultless’. David remarked ‘You’ve trained your dog beautifully’.

In the Semi Finals, Jules pretended to be a toy-maker and Matisse a toy dog. Jules lay Matisse down and ‘wound him up’, before performing tricks on the set. Then she seemingly pulled Matisse backwards with a magnet, before Matisse followed Jules whilst standing on her hind legs. Halfway in the performance Matisse sat atop a box containing Chase, before Chase exited the box and stood on his hind legs on the stage and Matisse did so atop of the box. Alesha stated ‘Your dogs are just beautiful and so clever. Also the whole story was fantastic’. Simon added ‘It was one of the best dog acts that I think we’ve ever seen’. They won the Public Vote and advanced immediately onto the Final.

In the Final, Jules pretended to be a policewoman and Matisse a sausage thief. Jules included two of her other dogs, Chase and Skippy in the act. Matisse performed numerous tricks, but the biggest trick was a dog scaling a tightrope before exiting a door and getting his head stuck within a cone, hiding within bins and standing on his hind legs alongside Skippy. David remarked ‘I’ve always thought of myself as a cat person, but now I think I’m definitely a dog person as this was magical’. Simon added ‘It’s very difficult on a live show to get the dogs to do what you want. But do you know what’s fantastic is your love for that dog which really really shows and maybe we just saved the best until last’. They were announced as the winners of Series 9, beating runner-up Jamie Raven.
