America Has a New Favourite Dog! | The Labrador Retriever is no longer at the top after 31 years.
America has a newly updated list of favourite dog breeds. American Kennel Club (AKC), the world’s largest registry of purebred dogs, has revealed the most popular breeds in the USA. The French Bulldog has reached the top surpassing the Labrador retriever for the first time in History! The Labrador Retriever has dropped to the second position after reigning the list for 31 years.
The French Bulldog was ranked 14 in 2012, but since then, the registrations have expanded up to 1000%. They reached number 2 in the 2021 list with increasing popularity. French Bulldog reached the top of the list according to the registry data in 2022.
The French Bulldog is a smart and compact dog breed that is likely to fit into any lifestyle. Their adaptability, size, and Charming nature have wooed dog owners and families.
Since the French Bulldogs are small in size, they are able to adapt to small homes and apartments.
The breeds on the top five of the list include the Labrador retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepard and Poodle. Rottweilers have been made into number 7 from number 8. Dachshund has also surpassed the German Shorthaired pointer to number 9. Beagles secured the 8th position on the list.
