Companies Are Offering Free And Discounted Services To Wildfire Victims & First Responders!
The raging wildfires continue to devastate Los Angeles County. Companies are stepping up to provide free and discounted services to evacuees and first responders. With over 130,000 people under evacuation orders or warnings due to five major fires, these resources aim to alleviate some of the hardships.
Here’s a list of companies offering support:
- Uber: Evacuees can use the code WILDFIRE25 to receive a discounted ride to evacuation shelters. The offer, valid through January 15, covers $40 per ride for up to two trips per rider. Instructions on how to apply the promo code are here.
- Lyft: Lyft offers $25 vouchers for two rides (up to $50 total) with the code CAFIRERELIEF2. It is valid until midnight on January 15. Note that only 500 customers can use this offer.
- Planet Fitness: Planet Fitness gives evacuees and first responders access to free showers, locker rooms, and WiFi at Planet Fitness facilities. The offer is valid until January 15.
- Airbnb: Partnering with 211 LA, Airbnb is offering free temporary housing for those displaced by the wildfires. Further details are on their official website here
- Visit Anaheim: Special hotel discounts are available for wildfire victims through the Visit Anaheim official website.
- AT&T: Providing unlimited talk, text, and data to postpaid and prepaid customers in affected Southern California zip codes through February 6. A list of eligible zip codes is available online. Refer to the list here.
- Verizon: Customers in hard-hit areas receive unlimited calls, text, and data. Additionally, free Wi-Fi and charging stations are set up for public use at designated locations. More details will be shared soon.
